If you're fascinated by the history and symbolism of jewellery, then this incredible Serpent ring will captivate your interest...

Snakes have always been considered to be incredibly symbolic - dating back as early as the Ancient Greek civilisation, the snakes ability to shed skin had always been admired as symbols of rebirth and new life.

It is a popular design that has remained well loved right through the ages, even now in modern jewellery, the snake continues to be redesigned and reimagined in the eyes of the jeweller.

The person that made Serpent rings the most popular was actually Queen Victoria. During her ruling she was gifted a serpent ring with an emerald from her husband-to be Prince Albert, as a symbol of eternal love, wisdom and commitment.

This particular Serpent ring is crafted in solid 18ct Yellow Gold and is an original Edwardian piece which dates back to 1911. It is in excellent condition for its 109 years of age!

The snake coils 3 times around the finger with 5 white old cut diamonds graduating in size - starting with the largest diamond (0.06ct) set right at the top of the serpent’s head and graduating down in size as it tapers down the spine.
(0.06ct, 0.04ct, 0.03ct, 0.025ct, 0.015ct = Total diamond weight of 0.17ct)

It is very clearly hallmarked Chester, England c.1911

Fingersize is P ½ however due to the width of the ring, it fits like O ½
This ring can be resized a few sizes bigger or smaller to fit, so please message us for further information regarding size.
