A diamond encrusted ribbon is tied into a bow, binding the two hearts together - symbolising a continuous everlasting love that cannot be broken.
The diamonds serve to represent Endurance, the ruby represents Passion, and the sapphire represents Fidelity. These kinds of 'double heart' designs historically had its origin 100 years earlier, but it became one of the most popular designs at the turn of the century and it was often given as a gift of betrothal.
